Shihan Ian McClarence 6th Dan
BAF Chief Instructor for England

Born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1956, Ian McClarence has studied Aikido since 1973. Initially studying under T.K. Chiba Shihan with whom he gained the rank of 1st Dan and thereafter under M. Kanetsuka Shihan. He currently holds the rank of 6th Dan from Aikikai Foundation, Hombu, Tokyo, Japan. He is a senior member of the British Aikido Federation Technical & Grading Committee and is the Federation's Chief Instructor for England. He has taught at seminars throughout England & Wales. He also holds regular classes at his Dojo in Longbenton.


Sensei Mark Storey 2nd Dan

Mark Storey started practicing Aikido under Ian McClarence in 1989. He started teaching Aikido when he gained a coaching certificate in 2004. Over the years he has trained at many seminars with visiting senseis from Japan.
